During the same trip to silver falls I decided to check out some of the covered brideges in oregon. There are actually a lot of them in oregon, I think I went to about 10. Cottage grove has 6 covered bridges within their city limits with one that is being rebuilt. Most of the bridges were white in color with a few red ones. Some had solid sides, some windows, some were closed to thru passage where as many others were in active use. I was surprised to find that most were build after 1940. I though they would be older than that. It would eb interesting to photograph some of them with snow on them or fall leaves.
